If you draw a straight line down from our city of Rosario you will find the small city of Pergamino. Pergamino is a city of around 120 thousand inhabitants, and is approximately an hour and a half away from us. At the first of April my friend Pastor Hernan Cortez called me and told me about a group of believers who are meeting there in a house and holding church services. It’s a long story how this group came together, but I went there to preach for them on the first Sunday in April. That night there were a total of 16 people plus myself, a couple, and a young man from our church. They were interested in me helping them establish a church, and I have asked for them to pray about this. I have gone each Sunday night during the month of April to preach for them. The attendance has ranged from 10-17. There are three churches in Pergamino that years before would have been considered solid, biblical churches. Today these churches have turned to Pentecostalism, preaching and teaching the prosperity gospel. Please pray for Pergamino and what God’s will for us might be concerning helping these brothers and sisters there.
I have been teaching English Class for my friend Pastor Hernan Ortiz in his church here in Rosario. The classes are held each Wednesday night for two hours, and are offered at no cost. The church has made many new contacts, and has had some families visit for church services as a result of the classes. Each month we have at least one special event planned on a Friday focusing either on men, women, or couples. In the month of April we had a couples meeting, where I taught on being open and united in our marriages. Next month we will have our first ladies’ retreat on the 19th and 20th of May. The ladies will spend that Friday and Saturday at our camp, studying God’s word and enjoying fellowship.
