In the month of October we had our second annual missions conference at Victory Baptist Church. We were blessed to have two visiting missionaries with us during the conference. Pastor Ezekiel Rojas was our missionary to Tucumán. I visited Ezekiel this past July and was able to see his ministry first hand. He has been the pastor of Bethel Baptist church for the past six years. The church was about to close the doors when he arrived, but they now have a church that is full and still growing. Ezekiel also started The Rock Baptist church in a town called Ranchillo. I had the privilege of preaching the five-year anniversary of this church. They still meet in a tent, and little by little are saving money and purchasing building material to build on the property that has been donated to them. One great blessing about Pastor Rojas’ ministry is that he is training two young men named Juan Jose and Agustin, and they are getting hands-on experience as they work with their pastor in the ministry.
Our other guest missionary was Pastor Freddy Paz. Brother Paz was also with us during our youth conference at the end of July. He is a missionary sent out of Peru, and is doing a fantastic job in Buenos Aires. His church has many young people who are growing and starting to participate in the ministry. He is currently saving funds to help purchase a building for his church. Brother Paz brought his family with him and we were able to get to know his precious wife and four children during the conference. They are expecting their fifth child next year around the month of March.
Our church people were greatly encouraged by the conference. Pastor Rojas and Pastor Paz both preached excellent messages that challenged us to do more for missions, and on Friday we had an international dinner. God is working in the hearts of our people, and we are praying about the next steps for our ministry here.
Prayer Points:
• Pray for a man in our church who just surrendered to the ministry.
• Pray for us a we search for a building and property for the church.
• Pray as we train the next pastors and leaders of the ministry here in Argentina.
