Fifteen years ago on the Fourth of July, Emily started having contractions as we sat on Main Street in Easley, South Carolina and watched the fireworks. Later that night she woke me up telling me it was time for us to go to the hospital to have baby Bethany We are so thankful for Bethany and the young lady she has grown up to be. She serves in our church’s music and youth ministry. This year we were able to celebrate Bethany’s birthday in the popular tourist destination of Bariloche, Argentina. It was the first time our children had seen snow in many years, and it was the first time that Madelyn remembers seeing and playing in the snow.
Victory Baptist Church in Rosario: We had a great time in our youth conference this year. The church pulled together, and on Tuesday and Wednesday we took to the streets passing out hundreds of invitations, along with hot chocolate, cookies, and balloons to the children. Several new families came to church because of this effort. Missionary David Yanapa preached great messages each night to a packed house. Pray as we follow up with these new contacts.
The first week of September we will be having a men’s retreat. Pastor Matias Aguilera from Quilmes will be preaching for us this year.
***SPECIAL NOTE***
I am finalizing our church building plans with the architects. We have already started obtaining the building permits, and I will be having a surveyor out very soon to survey the lot. Will you pray about donating to help us build the building?
Faith Baptist Church in Pergamino: In Pergamino we have found a building and rented it. We hope to be able to start services in the new building by the end of August.
Visitors: God blessed us with the visit of two precious couples during the month of July. Rafael and Cecilia and their son Guillermo are from Peru and are praying about the possibility of being missionaries here in Argentina. Also Jairo and Muriel with their son Cheick visited us. Jairo is an Argentine from the city of Quilmes. He is a missionary to Burkina Faso, and that is where he met his wife, Muriel. They are currently in Argentina until the end of the year, to raise more funds and also for health reasons.
Trips: This year God has blessed me with the opportunity to travel and preach in many places. At the end of the month of August, I will be traveling to Arequipa, Peru to preach for Pastor Juan Pacheco in their missions conference. Please pray that God would use me there.
