The Big 20: Argentina’s Largest Cities Quilmes

The city of Quilmes is located about 11 miles south of the city of Buenos Aires, and is part of the Greater Buenos Aires area.  It is named after the indigenous tribe that lived there before settlement of the Spanish.  Quilmes really began to grow during the boom of immigration that Argentina had back in the 19th century. Today Quilmes has a population of 230,810.

I am thankful to say that Quilmes does have a Baptist church!  The Grace Baptist Church was founded there a few years ago by missionary Jeff Bush and Pastor Matias Aguilera.  Brother Matias has worked faithfully there at Grace and the church is growing.

We rejoice that there is light in this city but there is still a great need here.  Join with me this week in praying for the congregation there that God would use them in a mighty way in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their city.
